In a competitive world that now exists, organizations often get confused between two options, that is whether to hire an efficient one or a loyal one..what do you think, who is more important? in this article i will try to explain who is more important, who plays a major role, who has the chances to reach the top level of the hierarchy. Let me explain this with the help of a small story.
Once upon a time there was a king, He conducted a recruitment process for an important role. He received thousands of applications for the post, and finally he selected four people. They are 1.Shakuni, 2.Karn. 3. Dushyasan. 4. Sathyaki ( Younger brother of krishna) All four are highly qualified, All of them have a good working experience at different organizations (kaurava Ltd, Yadava ltd,). King was really confused as he was unable to decide whom to recruit. Then he approached his council member vidura. Then vidura explained the situation to the king using a 2*2 Matrix.
Vidura explained the king about the four aspirants.
1. Dushyasan cannot be selected , as he is neither loyal nor efficient when compared to all other aspirants.
2. Despite being highly efficient, Shakuni cannot be selected , because he is not loyal. ( Shakuni's main aim was to destroy kauravas).
3. Though satyaki is loyal, he cannot be selected as he doesn't possess the qualities that the job requires.
4. Karn is the right person, who is both loyal and efficient. ( Karna was loyal to his king Duryodhana and efficient too).
If not karna satyaki is a good option (As he was loyal).
Then the king asked vidura , why you selected karn and satyaki among the four. Why not dushyasan or shakuni?. Then vidura said that efficiency can be created by rigorous training but loyalty cannot be trained or created. The king got convinced with the explanation given by vidura .So, as per the suggestion of vidura the king selected karna who is both efficient as well as loyal.
Here is an important thing that companies and organizations need to focus on. When organizations recruit new candidates, they need to look at their attitude rather than efficiency. This is the success mantra of most of the successful organizations.
Karna is the ideal type of candidate who cannot be found every time.
Most of the applicants will be either Dushyasan, Shakuni or Satyaki.
Most of the organizations are selecting candidates like shakuni ,who is not loyal to his king or organization. This is the primary of reason for the increasing attrition rate and frauds. So, in order to avoid these situations organizations need to find a candidate like karn or a candidate like satyaki.
EFFICIENCY COMES WITH EXPERIENCE BUT NOT LOYALTY. MACHINES CAN EFFECTIVELY PERFORM THINGS THAN HUMANS. LOYALTY IS WHAT SEPARATES HUMANS FROM MACHINES.
