INDIAN ASTRONOMY
India is known for its
traditions and their significance with current scientifical facts. India is the
birth place for many Vedas and Upanishads. India is also the birth place many scientists,
in Sanskrit they are called as Muni or Rushi. These scientists of ancient india
invented many things without using any equipments. They used their powers known
as ‘divya drishti’ to know the things that are actually happening. One of such
fine inventions of Indian scientists is ‘Astronomy’. The science that tells us
the secrets of universe.
The inventors of Indian astronomy are
Bramha Guptha and Varahimihira. Both the scientists are the inventors of astronomy.
The scientists were always correct in their calculations about the universe.
When the other part of the world didn’t even know that there are nine planets
in the galaxy, our scientists were able to find it without using any advanced
equipments like Telescope or any other thing. We still can find the nine
planets in every Indian temple called as ‘ nava graha’. Graha means planet,
Nava means nine., i.e., nine planets. Even in those nine planets Surya (The
Sun) will be in the middle and all the other planets will be rotating around
him. This was known to our ancestors a long ago only. That is the greatness of
our Indian astronomy.
Let me explain you the
greatness of our Indian astronomy with another example.
Do You Know Arundhathi Star? :
Arundhathi
star, it s pretty famous in southern part of india. In south india both bride
and groom will be asked to see the arundhathi star during the ceremony of their
marriage. Why they are following this tradition? What is its scientific
significance.
In
actual, Arundhathi is not a single star, it’s a twin star. That means they are
two stars which looks like one single star. There are so many twin stars in
this galaxy, but why they insist us to look at arundhathi particularly? The
reason is in general in a twin star one star will be a moving star and the
other will be a non-moving star. Whereas in arundhathi both the stars rotate
among each other. This is the specialty of arundhathi star. And this cannot be
observed in any other stars. In short arundhathi star is a symbolic
representation of relationship between husband and wife.
Nice one....
